Sharon W. Haire is a pediatric nurse practitioner at the Massachusetts General Hospital for Children. She has 21 years experience as a registered nurse and pediatric nurse practitioner in the field of pediatric surgery.  Sharon has worked as a staff nurse on a pediatric surgery floor as well as bone marrow/stem cell transplant unit both at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill and at Duke Hospital for Children.  Her first NP position was with Pediatric Surgery at Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth in June of 2001 until December 2010.  She has dedicated many years to the care of pediatric patients with surgical needs, and has written book chapters, participated in clinical research projects, and has given lectures on the topic. She is a patient advocate who supports not only the patients, but the entire family unit.

Sharon’s educational background includes an Associate Degree in Nursing from Asheville Buncombe Community College in Asheville, NC, Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Master of Science in Nursing from Duke University.
