Karen's Story:
My name is Karen. I am 41 and have pretty much known that I have nf since I was 16. It came from my mom, and we don't know how she contacted it. And she is severe. She has thousands of the nf. She has them inside and outside.My nf's are mild. I have a few noticeable ones, lots of cafe au lait. My daughter also has the cafe au laits but no bumps yet. My bumps started at the first period i had, and as of yet she has no bumps that are noticeable. My mom and I both stopped getting them when we had hysterectomies. So we assume that with some of the women, at least, it may or may not be coincidental with our reproductive cycles. I can say that my daughter has no learning disabilities. She is okay and we hope that she will not have the bumps at all. But we are strong believers that we can handle any thing with God's help.
