[ efgh ]Secure File Transfer Service now available Hi
all - Last June we had a presentation at the monthly Research/IS tech
lunch from 2 vendors presenting solutions for electroncially sending large files.
Over the summer there was a test of the two solutions that many on this list participated
in. Based on the results of that test we have chosen Accellion as the vendor to
provide this service. Accellion
provides an appliance which is housed in the Needham data center. It's a secure
web based application, has 440 Gb of storage, 4 Gb or RAM, and has anti-virus
detection built in. People can send large files to anyone, either inside or outside
of Partners, and the people who receive the files can send files back to the original
sender. A quick start guide is available at the Research Computing web site at:
http://www.partners.org/rescomputing/content/secureFiletransfer.asp
This
service is now available and we encourage you to spread the word among the research
people you support. The address is https://transfer.research.partners.org The
system will authenticate anyone within Partners by using your e-mail address and
choosing a six character or longer password. The password should contain both
numbers and letters. If
you have any questions, send an email to rcc@partners.org.
regards, Partners

all - We have enabled the invite function. This is an easy way to invite
someone internally or externally to use the file transfer service. Once the external
user signs up from the invite email they will be able to send you files. Steps
to Invite a new user: 1.
First you have sign up and login to the File Transfer Service 2. After you
login to the system click on the Send File tab 3. The Invite link is located
in the upper right corner 4. Once you click in the invite link a small window
will open and then enter the email of the person you want to invite 5. Then
click the invite button to send. A
quick start guide is available at the Research Computing web site at: http://www.partners.org/rescomputing/content/secureFiletransfer.asp This
